1/700 Scale
HMS Montrose (F236) is a modern British missile frigate. The keel for this unit was laid in 1989, the launch took place in July 1992, and the entry into service - in June 1994. The total length of the ship at the time of launching was 133 meters and a width of 16.1 meters. Full displacement is around 4,900 tons, and the maximum speed is around 28-29 knots. The armament at the time of the launch consisted of a single 113mm cannon, two 30mm autocannons and Sea Wolf missiles. The ship also has aviation equipment in the form of a Westland Lynx or Agusta-Westland Merlin MH1 helicopter. HMS Montrose is one of sixteen Type 23 frigates (also known as the Duke-class). Ships of this type were designed and put into production to replace the Type 22 frigates in service. Compared to their predecessors, they have much richer electronic equipment, quite clearly changed armament - especially artillery - and have a significantly smaller crew, thanks to the automation of some processes on the ship. They also have considerable capabilities to combat underwater and air targets. It is estimated that the cost of building one Duke-class ship is approximately £ 130 million.
