Lexus LS is a Japanese passenger car of the upper class (luxury), produced by Toyota Motor Corporation, which was first presented to the public in 1989. Its serial production started in the same year and is still going on. In its course, the model was and is being produced only in the city of Tahara in Japan.

The LS model was developed and put into production as the first Lexus car, and work on it began in 1983 and led to the creation of several hundred designs and many models of concept cars. Four of its generations were under production. The first one was produced between 1989 and 1994 and included only the LS400 model, offered with an 8-cylinder engine with 245 HP. It also had extensive basic equipment and was dedicated primarily to the markets in the USA and Western Europe. The second generation was produced in the period 1994-2000 and was characterized above all by a significantly more powerful engine, which had a positive effect on driving dynamics and performance. Only the LS400 model was still offered. The third generation appeared in 2000 and was produced for six years - until 2006. The car had a significantly changed body style, as well as the number of available versions increased by, among others: LS600 (car with hybrid drive) or LS460 (with engine 380 hp and 8-speed automatic transmission). Finally, in January 2017, the 4th and so far the last generation of the vehicle was presented, with versions such as: LS500, LS600h or LS460.
